Country Bank, in partnership with The WooSox Foundation, recognizes the amazing teachers who go above and beyond every school year with a “Most Valuable Teacher” (MVT) Award.
Students throughout the region can nominate their teachers, who if selected will receive a $100 gift card from Country Bank, a special award and they will also be recognized at their schools with a special visit from a WooSox mascot and Country Bank’s mascots, Buck & Maddie. Additionally, both the teacher and nominating student will receive four tickets to a WooSox game during the 2026 season along with other prizes.
Please help us pay tribute to the meaningful contributions teachers make to the social, emotional, and intellectual development of their students by nominating a teacher to be awarded MVT during the months of September through June.
It is such a privilege to be nominating Danielle Barry for the Most Valuable Teacher Award. When I think of Heard Street School I think of Mrs. Barry. Everyday Mrs. Barry makes me feel welcome and she is excited to see me at school.
Ms. Dupuis is the special ed aid that our daughter Allie , who has Autism, has had through Kindergarten, summer school as well as first grade so far. She has helped our daughter so much in terms of social skill, learning , day to day activities in school, communication with us about several ideas and progress with Allie.
Mrs. H is the kindergarten teacher every student deserves and the teacher every parent hopes for their child’s first experience in school. Mrs. H provides all of her students a warm, fun, supportive and caring environment.
Mrs.Wright has consistently demonstrated a profound commitment to the success and well-being of every student in their class. They go above and beyond to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued. This dedication is evident in their willingness to provide extra help, offer encouragement, and their teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of their students.

Through hands on lessons, creative classroom experiences, and real world learning, Mr. Vincent goes far beyond the traditional classroom. From interactive projects to teaching responsibility and financial literacy, he’s created a space where students are truly excited to learn.
Through compassion, dedication, and an unwavering belief in her students, Ms. Roy creates a classroom where every child is supported, challenged, and empowered to grow. Her work has opened doors for students to engage, communicate, and shine in ways that continue to inspire those around them.
Mr. Bouthiller aka “Mr. B” as referred by his students, embodies what it means to be a technical schoolteacher. I would have never guessed my son would want to join automotive, but after his exploratory week as a freshman, it was his first choice. When I asked my son why automotive, he said he thought the teacher could help him get where he needed to be in order to work on trucks/tanks when he enlists in the Marines upon high school graduation. As a now junior, my son thoroughly enjoys going to automotive class, even exchanging a few jokes with Mr. B throughout the day. My son was also asked by Mr. B to be a Student Ambassador for the automotive program, acting as a representative at events to future students, parents, and community partners who provide opportunities for Co-ops. I think it is safe to say my son has learned so much from Mr. B and will surely miss him when he graduates high school next year.
Mrs. Marshall creates fun and interactive lessons to help us be able to translate words in English to Spanish, and to identify, comprehend, and fully understand them. Out of all my 7 classes, this class is the one that I am super excited to go to. She makes an unforgettable experience of teaching. She is one of the very few teachers that truly put their heart and soul into teaching their students. She has visual representations for all most all of the translations that we have to make. She created such a stress – free environment for learning. I am in pure shock that I am able to read, write, and comprehend multiple paragraphs at a time that are all in Spanish. Learning a new language takes time, but with Mrs. Marshall it almost feels natural that I am able to speak this much Spanish. She makes her lessons insanely fun and interactive by including games, songs, movement, and dancing. She provides us all with a good laugh, which is sometimes all you need.
Her and her teacher assistant Mrs. Smith make her first year of learning an absolute Joy. She is kind, patient, and enthusiastic to be a teacher. Her unwavering dedication, compassion, make such a profound impact on her students’ lives. Her infectious love for learning not only teaches academic fundamentals but also builds strong emotional and social foundations for her students. Her classroom is a place where every child feels seen, supported, and celebrated. That is why I am nominating Mrs. Balicki for teacher of the year. You couldn’t find a better candidate.
