Country Bank donates and builds a bulldozer in Grenville Park

A little over a year ago, two Country Bank staff members recognized a need for a safe place for children to play within their community. Armed with a desire to create a long-lasting impact for current and future children of Ware, they presented a proposal to the Bank’s Senior Management Team to purchase unconstructed, secure playground equipment and invite members of the Bank’s staff to participate in the construction.

On Tuesday, July 30^th, in 90 degree temperatures, a team of 12 Country Bank staff members spent the day building the playground with assistance from the Park’s Department. The day started for the Country Bank team around 8 a.m. and was completed just before 3 p.m. Children and adults were seen curiously watching and eagerly anticipating the final product in which children have already been playing on! A live video stream was broadcasted during the build on the Bank’s Facebook page where an outpouring of comments are displayed by appreciative community members.

The two staff members, Eileen Chevrette and Dawn Piechota, lead this initiative from conception to completion. “Finding the right partner for the equipment that we had our heart set on was a job in and of itself; it took a little longer than expected to have the bulldozer parts made” stated Dawn Piechota. “However, our team of builders was committed to making this happen for the kids. It truly was awesome to be a part of something so special for our community here in Ware.
